I was up for an hour or two tonight, running an array of thaughts and emotions through my head, and thaught I should draw how I feel at school. I choose not to draw my face in for several reasons, one being that I felt if I had added features to my face, that the drawing would not give as much of a empty feeling. The arms and positon of the hands were rather difficult for me, i spent several minutes between drawing, staring at my arm and hand in my mirror, to try and get the jonts in the fingers correct. Also, I have never been one for drawing in the hair on people, so I drew hair with a rather... Anime-style approach. In any case, I hope you like what I have done and might be able to give me some ideas as to what i could, or should do with the black space over top of my head in the drawing. Any comments appreciated.
I'm glad you want to work on the background, as so many good artists forget that a good background will make an excellent foreground shine better.
The work is very good, you don't need an incredible amount of realism in order to render the emotion you sucessfully convey. Were it I I would start with a dark gradiant value in the top left about where the top of the highest hand is, and then go darker until you reach the face and the hair (using the ligher hair as the breakpoint to the figure). Give this background lots of swrily bits to indicate many other potential hands reaching out. To add a gritty feel, make the figure sit against a brick wall, this will stereotype the image, 'up against the wall' as if he has no place to go to.
I believe the work conveys emotion very well, and will be watching your works in future.
That you kindly for your comments and suggestions, I am finding myself speeding through my drawings just to find the finished product, and not focusing on 'the larger picture'. Thank you again

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
